Shower Scene

His wife screams, audible over the television.

Can someone get rid of this spider please she yells.

He switches off the television and goes through to the shower room, his wife sodden and wrapped in a towel, shivering like a wind up doll.

The spider is huge – small body but legs long and ominous. As he approaches the spider scuttles forwards, chasing him out of the room.

Hearing both screaming and laughter his son enters the room.

I’ll do it Dad he says, sighing like only a seven year old can.

  1. I can relate. My daughter is terrified of spiders and I’m worried that all the spiders I have killed over the years will come back and haunt me. Never mess with spiders. Well done!
